‘Death by metaphors’
Wake up, reluctant
The day is imminent
Deafened by the silence there
Creep out, look innocent
Touch terror, stay vigilant
Struck down by virulent lightning
Leave the safe place
Fake a brave face
Startled by the nonsense there
Block out traffic, be confined
Defined by this odd frame of mind
Whipped away by a hurricane of thought
Walk in, reluctant
Make a good misjudgement
Drowned in the sea of words there
Roulette, a threat
Breathe, don’t forget
Burnt by the eyes’ neglecting stares
To do or not, to prove
Someone will disapprove
Stabbed by a startling realisation there
Make one mistake
For double heartbreak
Sickened by the immunisation
Work, reluctant
Fear is subsequent
Suffocated by the lack of memory there
Overhear conversation
Some mutated narration
Strangled by the interpretation
Unable to spell
Daydream and dwell
Lost among directional signs there
Commit some antic
Look a bit frantic
Starved of the surrounding freedom
Eat, reluctant
Clumsy incident
Battered with a breadstick or something there
See what’s at stake
Grab a sponge cake
Killed by indigestion and sad movie
Don’t quit the chase
Fake a brave face
Stuck in the heat of the desert there
Don’t try, cry, glare or express
The response causes more stress
Buried beneath what lies within
Relax, reluctant
Sit down, insolent
Disappeared in the visibility there
Make a mess, be accused
Such a mess, be confused
Shot by a dodgy nerve impulse
The day is retraced
Mentally misplaced
Strangled by binding truth there
Night takes shape
There’s no escape
Trapped by the fence of darkness
Sleep, reluctant
Silent, verbal rant
Engulfed by iniquity there
Practice what to say
Plan for the next day
Comforted, momentarily
