I'm scared of the darkness that comes
I see it approaching
unlike ever before
it is vast
not just for me

I thought it was mine alone
but we are to share

Are you prepared?
Do you know?

You seem unaware as it prowls about you
sometimes I watch it
it smothers me
envelops me
covers me in its shroud

Yes I know that I’m not alone
Yes I see you

But you don’t want to see it
you don’t want to feel its choking embrace

Your days are still full of light
happy times
flanked by angels
and people
but demons lurk in the shadows

I'm so fucking scared of the darkness that’s coming
Coming for all of us
I see it approach
