Twisting like the roots of a mangrove tree
These thoughts and ideas all flee from me

Tossing and turning
A fire inside is burning

Your visage floats before my mind’s eye
Pursing my lips I do not voice my silent cry

I follow like a shadow with luck you don’t even know I’m there
I keep dogging your steps like a hound with a scent
Even the sound of her speaking your name I’ve come to resent
Listening to her calling out in fright in the dead of night
For far too long I’ve held my tongue
Knowing about this evil something must be done
Gleaming like rubies in the moonlight
Your blood slowly dribbles from my knife
With utmost hatred in my heart I took your life
For the innocence you stole from a piece of my heart

You slip into my dreams late at night
Even as my breath billows in silent streams
And taking me in your arms you hold me tight
You wrap us in a cloak of vibrant fire

Patient as a tiger hunting prey in the wild
He gazes upon the woman he knew as a child
Taking in the changes to her form so perfect and fair
He longs to tenderly run his fingers through her lustrous hair
Moving slowly so as not to startle
He gently takes her in his arms
Her eyes glazing over with untold desire
With his lips he tenderly throws kindling on her fire
Soon they find themselves locked in the eye of passion’s storm

Haunted by your ghost
Your face appearing out of thin air
I long to hold you in my arms even though I know you’re not there
I hear your voice on the wind
As it teases the locks of my hair

Blood runs down my arms in torrents of crimson
Even as I fight back the onslaught of this demon horde

Watching you walk by
I fight hard not to sigh
